Mindfulness - Improve Your Mental Wellbeing

It can be easy to rush through life without stopping to notice much. Paying more attention to the present moment-to your own thoughts & feelings, and to the world around you-can improve your mental wellbeing.

Becoming more aware of the present moment can help us enjoy the world around us more and understand ourselves better.

Armed Forces Covenant: What's in it for you?

  • The Covenant Team works with the Finance and Insurance industries to mitigate disadvantage as a result of service. If you have experienced commercial disadvantage because of your or your family members’ service, please take a moment to complete a short survey to tell us about it.
  • A number of motor insurers have pledged to permit Service personnel to retain their accrued No Claims Discount for up to three years if they are assigned overseas. Some but not all extend this benefit to spouses/civil partners; it is therefore essential that the terms and exclusions of any policy are checked carefully when taking out insurance. There is further information here https://www.armedforcescovenant.gov.uk/deals-on-wheels/ ; the specialist insurance brokers named in the article are able to provide bespoke advice for military personnel and their families.
  • Credit history information. The credit reference agencies are working together on a common approach to ensure a consistent and best possible outcome for Service personnel while they are based at British Forces Post Office addresses. The agencies and lenders regularly engage with the MOD via the Financial Services Steering Group, which is facilitated and chaired by the Covenant team, to ensure that Service personnel are not disadvantaged in the provision of financial services and in accessing credit.
